And touts some top notch safety accolades, including a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and a TOP SAFETY PICK rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, which includes a SUPERIOR rating for frontal crash prevention with Honda Sensing.
Distinct Exterior Styling
Separating itself from the rest of the CR-V lineup, the 2020 CR-V Hybrid delivers up its own unique design cues, including:
- hybrid grille badging
- unique front fenders and tailgate
- hybrid-exclusive 5-lamp LED fog lights
- unique rear bumper design
Plus, like other new CR-V variants, the CR-V Hybrid features new headlight designs, new alloy wheel designs for EX and EX-L trims, and new 19-inch wheels on Touring trims.
Interior Desires
In addition to its standard Smart Entry and Pushbutton Start, and standard cargo cover, the 2020 CR-V Hybrid delivers the same roomy, well-connected interior found in non-hybrid variants.
Plus, the 2020 CR-V Hybrid includes full-flat folding and 60/40-split second-row seat. Exclusive to the CR-V Hybrid is its push-button gear selector that allows the driver to maximize power or fuel-efficiency by switching between Sport, EV and ECON modes.
All-Wheel Drive Hybrid Powertrain
Similar to the two-motor hybrid systems used in the Honda Accord Hybrid, the 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid allows for more time in EV mode thanks to advancements made to the battery’s operating range. The two-motor hybrid-electric powertrain combines a high-efficiency 2.0-liter DOHC i-VTEC Atkinson-cycle engine with an electric propulsion motor that produces 232 lb.-ft. of torque, for a total system output of 212 horsepower.
Requiring no input from the driver, the CR-V Hybrid seamlessly shifts between three distinct drive mode — EV Drive, Hybrid Drive, and Engine Drive — to maximize efficiency.
