If you visit Tracy Honda anytime soon, you'll be able to see the latest in eco-friendly vehicles, including the Honda Civic Hybrid and Honda Insight. But, you may soon find an EV-variant of the popular Honda Fit, as well.

The Japanese automaker has officially started testing the Honda Fit EV in China. The idea is to test the cars on local streets and highways in China to learn about their real-world practicality. Not only will this help Honda find any possible technical issues, they will also be able to determine where charging sites should be set up, based on range per charge and charging pattern data.

The EVs being tested in Guangzhou, China are, of course Honda Fit EVs. The automaker has confirmed that the charge time of the Fit EV is just under six hours with a 220V power supply, with a mileage range of just under 100 miles.
